Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know what my puppy is learning during a board and train?

We're pleased to inform you that you'll receive a personalized video every weekday (Monday-Friday). These videos will highlight the progress your dog has made during their training sessions that day. We believe this will offer you a firsthand glimpse into your dog's learning journey and provide valuable insights into their development. You are also free to reach out to us anytime to ask about your fur baby.

What do I pack for my puppy's board and train program?

Here's a summary of what we'll have ready for your dog's training program:

  1. Food: Please pack enough food for the duration of your dog's training, which typically ranges from 2 to 4 weeks. We want to ensure that your dog maintains their regular diet throughout their stay.

  2. Food and Water Bowl: We need two bowls to provide your dog with easy access to nourishment and hydration throughout the day.

  3. Bed and/or Blanket: Your dog's comfort is important to us, so we encourage you to bring their bed or a familiar blanket from home to help them feel more at ease during their stay.

  4. Medications: If your dog requires any medications, please ensure that you pack an ample supply along with clear instructions for administration. Our trained staff will ensure that your dog receives their medication as directed.

  5. Favorite Toy (Optional): While optional, bringing your dog's favorite toy can provide them with comfort and entertainment during their training sessions and downtime.

By providing these essential items, you're helping us create a welcoming and nurturing environment for your dog throughout their training program. If you have any specific preferences or additional instructions regarding your dog's care, please feel free to let us know, and we'll do our best to accommodate them.

H0w old does my dog need to be to start a training program?

At Buddy Paws Dog Training, we tailor our programs to accommodate dogs at different stages of development. Here are our recommendations:

Puppy Training: We recommend starting puppy training between 3 months and up to 6 months old. This early start allows puppies to begin learning essential socialization skills, basic obedience commands, and proper behavior habits from a young age.

Basic Obedience Training: For basic obedience training, we suggest starting anywhere after 6 months old. By this age, most dogs have developed a basic understanding of their environment and are better able to focus on learning commands and behaviors.

We understand that every dog is unique, and we're here to support you in choosing the right training program based on your dog's age, temperament, and individual needs.
